Weekly Inspiration Network: WIN #6, Feb20 - Feb 26
Oops: Should be WIN #7, not #6
I don't think anyone else started this for this week, so here it is:
Weight loss since 1/2/12: 21 lbs
Weight loss since last Monday: 3 lbs.
Losing a little faster than planned, but not complaining. Was really busy at work last week, but did get a couple of rides in over the weekend, plus one short-ish hike.
I'm feeling a lot lighter on my feet since starting this program, and one thing I noticed today when I was riding home from the supermarket with a load of groceries, was that the hills were very flat today.
Another accomplishment(?) for this week was that I decided to see how tall I was, so that my BMI calculations (and my goals) could be more accurate. I was very pleased to learn that I was an inch taller than I thought! (Not tall, just taller - 5'8" rather than 5'7"). I think that was because, this time, I measured myself in the morning. I've heard that we lose about an inch over the course of the day. But I'm not complaining... At the end of the day, I'll decide when I'm at my right weight based on how I look and feel, but it makes me happier to think that I'm taller than I believed I was.

Thanks Tony for starting this week's thread.
I am relatively stable on the weight at 104 pounds. My moving average for the past couple of months shows that I am still losing a small amount of weight, less than a half a pound a week. I upped my calories this week and still was down a half a pound but that amount is too small to draw any conclusions from. I am trying to be about 50 to 75 calories up from where I was before. This week I averaged 1544 per day.
I did not bike much this week, the weather was bad. But I had a decent rest week. I ran about 1.5 miles yesterday, my first run in a while that didn't bother my knees. I ran on a dirt path rather than pavement. I lifted weights only once this week. I did intervals light (at 90-92% effort, 1 minute on, 1 off, for 20 minutes) once this week.
I read three novels because my internet connection stunk.
For the coming week I hope to ride quite a bit because the weather will be nice. Wednesday I have plans to do a 40 miler with guys from the park at a nice slow pace. It should be fun. My goals also include weights twice this week and maybe one run, on Friday when I can't bike with the guys. And no shopping! Last week I was over budget.

Well, I'm demonstrating something I knew: if I don't get vigorous cardiac exercise regularly, my weight doesn't move.
Work has me swamped, so I haven't been getting to the gym, and look! no good change on the weight front.
But weight isn't the whole story, of course. I had a friend who is just learning to cycle come visit over the weekend, and with her instigation I did get outside and on my bike this weekend, and I've started addressing the neighborhood hills. I'm pleased to see that I'm doing better on hills than I was this time last year. Not as well as at the end of the season, of course, but hey, it's only February.
Lifetime high: 255 lbs, September 2009
Recent best: 182 lbs, May 2011
Jan 9: 192.4 lbs
Jan 16: 191.4
Jan 23: 189.8
Jan 31: 190.2
Feb 6: 188.8
Feb 15: 187.4
Feb 22: 187.2
