A velodrome in London Ontario!

So the place to be for track riders in southwestern ontario is... London. The old hockey rink is to be turned into a velodrome. Sounds kind of distant for some of us torontonians, but on the other hand, I don't hear some people complaining

Awesome... I can stop by for a spin when I'm in London visiting the Thorntons.

Ok. I'm never in London and don't know the Thorntons, BUT when I chopped my finger off in my drivetrain, my hand specialist who followed up (his job was to once a month unwrap my bandage and say, "looks good.") was the guy who put Joe's face back together after Lindros smashed his cheek bone. He was also good friends with Jiri Slegr. The first day I saw him, Jiri had dropped him off at MGH on the way to the airport.

See, it all comes full circle.

Great, as soon as leave the country one opens up nearby. Hope it works out and draws crowds.

If I'm not wrong, Joe Thornton is actually from St. Thomas ("where there's 25% more life!"), which is about half an hour from London. You'll remember he was arrested charged with assault there two summers ago.

The University of Western Ontario has just become my first choice for school next September now that I'm aware of this velodrome.

You Canucks had a 'drome in Delhi for a long time; is it still there?
Used to ride with some of those other crazy Belgian transplants that lived in the area.

Oh come on, don't settle for western just because of a bike track - I don't even know by what time it will be built, i just heard it on the local news. I'm just trying to help someone not make a mistake... lol. I'm at U of T - fyi: our mountain biking team is at the top for ontario universities.

There's also a drome in Windham. They're soliciting for support to resurface it.
