Request for help to fix trailer safety strap
The nylon safety strap to attach the kid trailer to my frame has a metal snap at the end. The snap has broken. To replace the snap, the nylon webbing would need to be cut and repaired. Does anybody have any easier suggestions?

Could you use what we call a carabine hook instead? I could imagine if you can cut the metal "ring" that goes into the webbing (sewn in place?) and put a carabiner instead you should be fine? Think we need pix to give the best advice.

It is probably a Number 24 snap that you could buy at the appropriate store. Most of the snaps on the gear that I have bought over the last few thousand years is based upon the #24. The Utilikilt Workman uses the #24 snap. When one broke, Utilikilts told me to get the #24 kit for self repair for which I thank them. I bought the hammer/anvil kit from Tandy Leather and started repairing my own stuff. Grethor, I make up stuff now using the #24 snap.

just replace it, maybe cut down a dog leash. it doesn't have to be exactly the same.

Thanks for all the replies. I cut the old hook off the nylon strap with bolt cutters. Then I bought a snap hook from the local hardware store which works perfectly! Thanks again
