If cyclists were animals
The ones who pass me up going fast are "rabbits" because they're fun to chase. When I pass someone else, and then he speeds up trying to catch me, he's a "hound". There are also squirrels, snakes (aerobars on the MUP), and sheepdogs (Daddies staying left of the kids, herding them).
What else? Do you ever think this way, and if so will you admit it?

I like to imagine that bikes are horses. Maybe just because I yearn for my home state to actually be what people think we are. The only place I've ever seen someone ride a real horse in public in texas are mounted police in the stockyards.
As far as the people, I imagine the speedy racer types are Cheetas, teenagers are lynx, the bigger muscley commuters are mountain lions, and me? I like to imagine myself as a lone wolf. Maybe because I get frustrated with all the others so easily.

I've always thought of myself as a tiger or cheetah, due to the riding position, crouched down over the bars in the "aggressor" animal position (see avatar to left).
That's why I'd never ride a 'bent! On your back, belly exposed, arms up, that's the submissive position in the animal world.

What about those newbies who can't ride in a straight line, and nearly fall with every zig-zag? I can't find an animal for that. Oh, what about fixters? I'm afraid there is no animal equivalent of those.

And for fixters (hipsters on fixies?), well, when I'm spinning downhill on my fixie at 56 kmh, spun out, I think of myself as a hamster!

But I dont think of myself as a fast animal either, more like a mule, steady pace all day long.
I have had a few pints and thought I was a honey badger.

Warning explicit post ahead:
Six years ago, I saw a group of bicycle riders going in circle around San Francisco city hall. Whenever police arrived they scattered and hide out only to regroup again because I think they were doing a protest ride or something along that line. The funny thing was that they were all fully naked
I think I will call them snake. Colleen sneaking out of here before getting into more trouble

I am a cheetah. I sprint, then take a short rest...and then repeat.

Hummingbirds drunken monkeys and cheetahs, I like that and will add those to my menagerie
The weekend guys who are just out enjoying themselves, going as fast as they can in a burst of pent up energy but not realizing what might be around the corner, they remind me of Labradors.
What about the large and chaotic family groups, a flock or swarm of something?
