auburn to downieville?
so..
I'm good at getting to grass valley and nevada city off 49
and then taking 49 back to auburn
but downieville
I want to ride that next week
looking at a map of ways to stay off 49
like
north bloomfield to lake city
then seeing backbone rd.
and plumbago rd.
then I guess
get on mountain house rd.
to good years bar
back on 49?
any advice for somebody who's trying to do this?
I have a friend in GV who's house I can crash at if
I can't make it back to auburn in one day
am I trying to much here?
should I bring a tent?

Have a look at Dog Bar Rd into GV. Less traffic than 49.
From NC, Broad St to E Broad to light at 49; cross 49; North Bloomfield Rd to T; left on Lake Vera Purdon Rd; follow it across South Yuba to Tyler Foote Rd. Cross Tyler Foote and take Oak Tree Rd to North San Juan.
Then it's 49 to Downieville. Or take the road to Pike and Forest City, and trails to Downieville.
If you watch the weather forecasts, you might be able to skip the tent and just use a sleeping bag.
Why rush? It makes for a more enjoyable ride when you take some extra time to explore and savor the roses.
