Determining the number of speeds of Campagnolo Mirage Shifters

Hey all!

Bit of a ridiculous question but I recently picked up an ALAN cyclocross bike built up with a mish mash of horrible components. Obviously more interested in the frame than anything, I'm selling off what's of value.

However I'm a bit confused by the Campagnolo Brifters that came with the bike. As Campy seem terrible at any form of serial numbering to identify the exact year etc of components, I'm left a bit unsure as to what speed the shifters are. They we're successfully indexed with an Shimano Ultegra 6500 RD on an 8 speed cassette. However more 'clicks' are available on the down shift, 10 to be precise. The front shifter seems to be of a similar set up, however I suspect this to be some semi friction mode probably.

Hope you can help!

You cant have 10 clicks, if you have 10 clicks it means is 11 speed. Those are 9 or 10 speed brifters but since you did not picture the front of them is hard to tell

number of clicks up or down plus 1 equals number of cogs can handle.
