The London To Brighton Night ride.

I did not enter that early so a bit worried about having a start number of 438--I am hoping there are a lot more riders on the event and I am expecting thousands. The route is slightly different to the Normal ride in the summer so hope it is well signposted. They won't give out the actual route till a few days before to stop the Residents on the route having too many checking out the route beforehand.

There are certain rules laid down and it is that your bike has to be legal in every sense for night riding. Obviously lights front and rear and they state a rear red reflector. Hope they realise that my rear lamp has a reflector incorporated in the lens. It is also a rule that the pedals have to have reflectors fitted to them and coloured amber. Stupid rule but it is a reg for UK night time riding. However--"""If you cannot fit reflectors to your pedals then please use a reflective trouser clip or band""" They also state that you may find using a head torch on the night helpful- especially at the rest stops. 60 miles and I won't be stopping but the head torch will be usefull for finding the route signs if there are not many entries.

Now this is an easy ride with only one hill at the end that will get the heart rate up a bit. But i like the optomism of the organisors. Taken from the Route card------It's 60 Moonlit miles to Brighton and we hope you enjoy every star along the way

Should have put it in- just in case any UK riders want to enter. Entries close on 11th May so still plenty of time.

Weather "Should" improve but next week and it still looks like Rain.

I'm afraid I'm just a week back from a trip to London and Brighton. Had I been there at the time, I'd have loved it.

Next time? I'm sure I can find room on the back of the Santana Visa, which would save you all the 4S tiresomeness.

If you are over here any time then I will get you offroad round Friston. Will probably have to be the Tandem but you may save me two S's but the swearing and shouting are part of my Stokers itinerary.
