Brompton rim

Anyone here have an idea as to who manufactures the Brompton rim? Like other Brompton components I'm guessing it's available somewhere at half the price under a different name, but so far I've not found it.

It looks rather similar to these:

https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/budget-16...ole-prod23892/
but sjs don't have one in the 349 size.

According to the Spocalc rim database, the Alesa alloy 219 is the standard 20" Brompton rim, and the ERD is actually 345.0 mm.

There's a pair on eBay right now:

Alesa don't exist anymore do they? Presumably those are the old type.

Bike Friday for their quick fold 'Tikit', also run a 349 rim,
theirs ordered in 24 spoke hole, rather than the 28 hole Brompton uses.
Seems like you have to contact them, and converse,
rather than a click to ship online store,

I heard VeloCity rolls one of their extrusions down
to be usable in a 349 requirement.. but no hands on experience

SJS has Brompton rim spares:
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/brompton-...-qrim-prod720/

just not at the 8 and 16p of the other ones ..

Alesa was bought by Rigida, but there doesn't appear to be any on-line presence for either, so you may be right about the Alesa rim being the old type.

I think they do. Take your pick Brompton or double walled Sun CR18. I prefer the Brompton ones as fitting tires to the Sun CR18s is a nightmare!

https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/rims-16-%...9-dept635_pg1/

The ERD is actually 338 as I measure it. Built up quite a few of these now.

Ps Even cheaper and free delivery at Brilliant Bikes https://brilliantbikes.co.uk/brompton...099027002.html

Regards

Jerry
