Need training help/advice for drag race.
In 2 months I'm doing a drag race in downtown LA, the race is a quarter mile. A month ago I did a one lap fixed gear crit that I had trained a few weeks for, but my legs gave out on me right away. So I''m looking for any help to train better for this upcoming race, thanks.

10 x 30 Second all out sprints with 5 min rest. Do that 3 times a week. Try and rip the handlebars off when you're sprinting. If you want to mix them up do some of the sessions on a hill in a big gear. Good luck!

thanks for the quick reply, I did intervals like that for the last race, did you mean 30 sec sprint 5 min rest X 10? I ride my fixed gear the most it has 52x16 gearing, but I can still do hills with it or use the 10 speed. The other problem is that I don't ride clipless yet. another month or so before i go clipless. so sprinting hard hurts my feet from the toe clips, I think I put too much pressure on my feet or is it just from not having clipless shoes?

its not on an actual drag strip haha, but this time there is gonna be electronic timers, and the police are helping them by blocking off the tunnel.

I'll tough it out for a bit longer until I go clipless. BTW in the video if you want to see the faster guys they're in the end. One or two of them in the video are track riders. but this year there are going to be more pros. Its not only fixed gears , but road bikes are welcome also. If I'm lucky I can try to pursue the owner of my favorite shop to let me ride his custom pursuit track frame that he built out of scratch, which has been collecting dust for years. It has a 650 front wheel, and a 700c Mavic challenger disk wheel which weights about 5 pounds but it would be cool to show up with that thing.
