Actually, I have three that I'm sitting on, one matched pair, and one extra. I don't know what I'm going to do with that extra.

FWIW I threw a brand new Acera long cage derailleur on an old Suntour 6 speed indexed mountain bike. It worked like it was made for it?,,,,BD

I don't remember the group, but it was a mid to late eighties Schwinn Woodlands, or Sierra. It was electric blue with geometric shapes all over, IIRC. All the parts were stock Suntour stuff. I don't know the brand of chain.,,,,BD

This bike is quickly becoming my do-everything, around-town, SUV bike. 1985 Schwinn Cimarron:
Double-butted cromoly lugged frame with fillet-brazed headtube joints. Low-rider mounts on the fork in case I really want to deck it out.
I'm loving these Schwalbe Marathon 26x2.0 tires. Small contact patch, so they're really surprisingly fast for their size, but I still feel like I can roll over pretty much anything.

I've got 6 speed commands running on an XC Pro RD and a 6 speed Shimano freewheel- it functions fine.

I like that High Sierra on CL in JP -- I've emailed them.
I don't have any experience with MTBs, for this sort of application would a 19'' CTC seat tube be too big for someone who rides a 53-54cm road bike?

You might give it a try. at 6'2, I should ride a 60 or so if memory serves, but I have a 22" that I've done this to and find it to be a bit too small.

Yeah, that's really cool. How do the hoods feel on those dirt drops? Do you have to turn your wrists a certain way or does it feel natural?
