Crank Replacement

I'd like to replace the crank on my bike. It's a Schwinn RS 5.0. It is an ISIS style. Can I just go on ebay and buy a 175mm Triagra crank and BB? D I have to know anything about the size of the BB. Current system is a Prowheel Ounce.

I partially stripped out thee threads on my right side crank handle. (I had forgotten to finish tightening it after assembling the bike and sprinted up a hill. Lucky it didn't pop off while navigating traffic, at speed.) It sucks more because I really wanted to wait until the next payday and upgrade the rear derailleur to a Shimano Tiagra. On the bright side, this is the perfect excuse to purchase an upgraded crank that my wife cannot object to.

If you pull out your current BB you will find the 3 bits of info you will need, diameter (68?) and length(102?). there is also a difference in the BB threads, english or italian. your cranks are easier, just make sure it will mate to your new BB, isis, square,....

With all that said, this may be a good time to abandon the cassette style BB and go for an outboard cup style BB and solid axle crank setup. probably more expensive but nicer imo.
