Aloha
Aloha,
Well, originally from Olympia, WA and currently in Honolulu, HI, I figured I would get a new bike...So I wound up with a 2013 Specialized Allez Sport Compact, and she's a blue beauty too. To be honest, its a learning curve for me being a complete newb to road bikes. So I am taking it one injury, err, I mean one step at a time. Riding a BMX bike most my life (well, about 30 of my 41 years) jumping on a road bike is a whole new world shifting gears, being clipped to the pedals, carrying bandages and Neosporin everywhere I go...Its different.
Anyway, while I'm here in Hawaii, I have 3 years to get ready for the Seattle-To-Portland ride. I am planning on 2016 but maybe 2015 if I get back home in time for it. Hopefully with a bike I built up. Who know's...
So anyway, enough chit chat...I have to learn how not to fall at a complete stop. I'm getting better, but running out of Neosporin...

Yes, going from BMX to road is a bit of culture shock! LOL! But you will learn to love it for it's benefits. Good luck on your conditioning - there's a lot of info here that might benefit. Snoop around the forum, and have fun!

Loving the forums! Chock full of information, and so far I am able to get them answered without starting a new thread.
