Newbie with a Question

New to the forum today and have been cycling for about three months.

One of things that has bothered me during the process of learing to ride has been numbness from the inside of my right bicep down into the hand. Since I bought my bike used, I had it properly adjusted to my geometry at a LBS, including shortening the stem from 100mm to 70mm. I've also changed to a pair of gel gloves and have tried to flex my elbows to take strain off of the ulnar nerve. Unfortunately, I still get numbness on the right side after about 12-15 miles of moderate to intense riding. It doesn't persist after I get off the bike and I can alleviate it temporarily, while riding, by sitting more upright in the saddle but I'd sure like to get rid of the problem all together.

Does anybody have any other ideas other than what I've already tried?

Welcome to Bike Forums.
Sounds like you're just putting too much pressure on your hands by letting your hands and arms do ALL of the work to support you. Work on strengthening your core so those muscles can do some of the work and it may help.
