Anyone familiar with Roland bikes?

I found a Roland "Everest" mountain bike on craigslist and cant find a whole lot of info on them so i was hoping someone could shed some light on them. is this bike worth spending 80 bucks on? https://sanantonio.craigslist.org/bik/3231025582.html

looks like its in great shape but Id say it is a low/mid quality department store bike. is that a biopace (oblong) chainring on it?? it might be worth the $85 depending on whats selling in your area and how desperate you are.

It does look like it is a biopace chanring.... Basically this is what i have now https://www.vminnovations.com/Product...ite-Blue-.html I know i know "walmart bike" but it was free to me and well it does have shimano parts and a disc brake if that means anything im not sure.... I am basically trying to decide if its worth upgrading my current bike or buying something else on the cheap and fixing it up and upgrading the parts. What do you think since this roland is also a department store bike?

the roland is hopefully lighter than your goose (posted 47.4 lbs.). a stiffer ride minus the suspension but it looks like steel which can have natural flex. the thumb shifters on the roland are a drag compared to the gripshifts you have now, maybe swap them over.

I searched bikepedia for roland, no everest but...

apparently I was too quick to call it a department store bike. the team sport was $700 in 01.
go check it out, ride it around. if it feels good, go for it.
