I was on TV, NBC new.
I think I was but couldn't tell since I was at work the whole day and just got back from a very cold commute. Much colder than last night. I was on my way to work, commuting, this morning. I think this morning the temp was in the negative. I was passing through Prospect Park. I saw a camera man and began waving at him. I didn't know they were from NBC until "Al" decided to ask me few questions. The first thing he asked was "no matter what?" I told him I was out training for racing in the spring. He then asked me how do I prepare to ride in this weather. BTW, there is a snow storm coming in tomorrow and all the weather news begin to hype the storm. I told him you need to wear a windproof and water resistance out shell coupled with wool socks and skiing gloves. He wasn't sure what I meant when I told him I was out training for racing.
I am not even sure if he knows that Kissena organizes a lot of races in the park when Spring comes around.

Lots of this stuff gets edited out . . . and then again, maybe not.
A few years ago a local station wanted to do a bit on tandems. Spent about 3/4 of an hour riding our tandem with a camera man laying on the hood of a station wagon doing the filming. Ended up with at least 30 seconds on the tube, most of it concentrated on our . . . feet . . . pedaling 90 degrees out of phase (90 OOP)!!!
But if it promotes cycling, we're for it!
Pedal on TWOgether!

-- About 20 years ago a local news station in L.A. featured a physician who bike commuted 18 miles round trip daily. They asked him why he does it; so this tan, lean doctor looked into the camera and said these memorable words:
"So I can eat cheesecake every day!"
