Tire Question
Okay, I'm new around here. This might sound like a dumb question but I was wondering if a 2.1 tire would fit on my wheel that has a 1.95 on it now. Thanks.

It should fit but if you have canti brakes vs discs, you may need to adjust the pads as they may strike the new tires' larger volume. If they hit the tires' sidewalls, you'll give yourself flats within a few yards of braking.

I installed the tire yesterday with no problem. I do run V-brakes but they aren't rubbing at all so I think I'm good to go. Thanks everyone for the advice and the quick responses.

Cool--have fun. I bet you'll enjoy better cornering with the wider rubber. I asked about the canti/V-brakes because I'd read about that once and also came across a guy who burned thru the sidewalls of 2 new tires after descending. He was 5 miles from where he had parked--doh!

The only issue I've come across when throwing on a larger tire (2.3) on a canti brake bike was that you have to slightly deflate the tires so the larger tire can clear the pads during removal.
