Royce Union folder- $2,500

Can anybody here tell me about this bike? Looks like it's from the 70's.

A little comparison shopping should give you an far more accurate idea about these bikes. Vintage Royce Union Folding Bicycle w/Parts - $300 https://jacksonville.craigslist.org/bik/3273971589.html I would not pay far more than about 100 dollars for one anyway at today's prices. And the one on the Jacksonville's Craiglist even comes with it seems the original extras that came with the bike for $300 Dollars, not $2,500 (although iit might be a typo mistake-I doubt it though)!

Not much different than a Raleigh 20". You'd be better off buying a new Citizen, Origami, or GreenZone folder than that.

That has got to be a typo. Maybe if it comes with a Sweedish swimsuit model you could justify $2500.

I'm amazed that someone would try to sell a bike - any bike - for $2500 using a photo that sh*tty.

Yes, because I do not speak Swedish and could not converse.

if you look carefully at the bike it seems like some kids butchered it with some bmx pegs and bmx wheelsets! it's not even original! so maybe $100 at most. Anyone going to email this guy and tell him he's delusional?

He only accepts phone calls. I did email for more info and some kind of clarification. Is the bike 80 years old (no) or was Dad 80 years old? No response. I admire his optimism. I'd go $50 and sell the wheels to a BMX collector.

Swedish bikini folder bike team. Woo-hoo. What a beautiful thought.

My grandfather bought two matching Raleigh folders and a VW Camper with pop-top back in the 60's on a European vacation. Also came home with a '35 Rolls Royce. The Raleighs disappeared mysteriously. I suspect my cousins boosted them & trashed the pair. I still want one.

What a deal, this is a steal of a deal. Just not for the buyer though.

I not sure that you had any experience with a late 1960s-early 1980s Raleigh Twenty. I sure have. I love mine so much. I did have once had new 2000s made folding bikes that were manufactured in similar factories as your list. I long since parted with them.

Or questionable. That photo seems to either been taken by a rank amateur, very desperate rather greedy seller-perhaps with a equally questionable background, or a kid.

The ultimate loser/sucker of all time. Sadly, they are born/made every day of the week.

wheels are from a Mongoose BMX, heavy as hell,...lol
Maybe some bmx collector is paying 100 bucks for the set ,,,, as long as there is nothing broken out on them ....

rest is maybe 20 bucks worth ....

NOTE: That Craigslist ad is from Anaheim, CA - home of Disneyland.

Would make sense; seller definitely lives in a "Magic Kingdom"!

Now that makes plenty of sense about the OP ad. Everything in the Los Angeles or the neighboring Orange County areas tends to be overpriced wildly as these blasts-from-the-past 1960s & 1970s oldsters that once were practically given away-until Ebay, Craiglist and the bimbo Hipsters driving up the prices:
Orange County listings
Vintage Raleigh Folding Bicycle - $499 (Costa Mesa), 1975 Raleigh Folder 20 inch - $350 (Huntington Beach), plus 3-speed folding tricycle - $265 (huntington beach).

Los Angeles area's listings
folding bike - $250 (South Gate), Bickerton Portable Aluminum Folding Bike 5-Speed - $150 (Los Angeles), even just a frame only-Auto Mini Folding Bicycle Frame - $25 (Bellflower).
