Athens Entrance Interview w/ Evan Pt. 1: Wazzzup - Manual for Speed

Good stuff!!

How do you get better at going fast and loose? I know if you descend over and over and over and over again, you get more confident. Same for cornering?

I bet if you ask most super fast guys, they can't explain it. I bet if you ask the guys who suck they can tell you all sorts of BS about oversteer or tire pressure or weight shift, or whatever.

Funny. That's the main reason I don't race more track. 2 hour drive and they don't finish until like 10:30.

Twilight criteriums are my favorite races. Fitchburg has two of them this year. I am also seriously considering going down to PA to do Iron Hill. That's my kind of course.

Getting psyched for my favorite race tmrrw, barrio logan GP cat3. The course suites me well - technical and punchy up and down a ~4-5% grade.

I placed 4th two years ago, 3rd last year. Family + gf will be there and I plan on doing better this year.

In other news, a neighbor of mine, whom I have never interacted with outside of passing smiles and waves, just dropped off a bunch of free bike **** at my apt.

Apparently he's getting deployed for some military intelligence mission, and needs to get rid of some crap. He gave me a complete Alex Rims ALX270 wheelset, with barely used cassette, a free floor pump, and a bunch of tires and tubes. I was like wtf...

Totally awesome. I guess it's time to pay it fwd.

Some people really have trouble wrapping their heads around the concept....

Funny. I'm going to the post office shortly to mail off a set of GSC-10 magnets to some guy in the Bronx who I'll never meet. What goes around comes around.

Mother's day and my birthday always right next to each other. I started telling my mom that if we can have a truce and just not buy each other things until after finals i'd be happy (finals at my school are always the 2nd week of may).

I wish my daughter was feeling well enough to misbehave.
