Took a little paint off... salvageable?

Hey guys, I'm working on an old 70's Sears just for fun. After trimming the decals down, I used a pretty potent remover on the gunk knowing that it takes a little paint off, but I went a touch too deep. It's not terrible, just a 1 inch darker spot under the top tube. Is there any way to layer a touch of color over it aside from repainting the whole frame? If not, oh well, it was a $10 bike.

On a side note, does anyone have some good ways to seal decals?

Thanks for the help,

~Nick

You could try some nail polish but you will probably just make it more obvious. How many people do you expect to look at the bottom of your top tube, anyway? Probably best to just leave it alone and ride it.

Clear nail polish will help prevent rusting if you've reached any bare metal. IMHO, less garish than most touch-ups.
