Wheel finished
Finally got the wheel together (with electrical tape as rim tape and a patched tube )

I would say electrical tape is FAR too elastic to use as rim tape and you'll start experiencing punctures from the little spoke well dimples. I'd consider investing in some velox cloth tape when you get the chance. it's pretty cheap.

+1 on getting some proper tape, personal choice is for Schwalbe blue plastic rim strip rather than Velox, but either will be better than electrical tape.
For the wheel, looks good, the valve / spoke placement is correct, what about the hub markings (if any) these should be lined up to be visible through the valve hole? true test will be if it rides OK.

I like to build my wheels so that the trailing spokes are on the inside of the hub flange for extra support since they are the spokes that take most the torque.

The blue Scwalbe is supposed to be in the mail, but the estimated arrival date was 12/5 and I had yet another broken spoke on the stock wheel, so I had to do something to get moving. I did get practice patching a tube which has lasted so far.
