Death by a thousand cuts
is what I named my rear tire... the one I just replaced 929 miles ago. (Michelin Pro3 Service Course) 3 flats yesterday in 3 different spots and the carcass looks like my neck the first time I tried to shave. Ugh. I found some tiny sliver of something sharp in the inside part of the tire... but it didn't appear to come from the outside.
Out with the bad, in with the new - I ordered a pair of Continental GP4000S a few months or weeks ago when PBK had that special and put one of 'em on today. I hope that holds up better. I hate flats.
I took the opportunity to put my wheel on my shiny new truing stand and found a TINY little wiggle that I didn't even know was there... so I fixed that. I spent the rest of the day putting my son's Christmas Experience together and may have to dig out the worklights to finish after dinner. The Executive Committee will frown on my taking off on a long bike ride tomorrow unless his "some assembly required" presents are completely assembled.
I hope the rest of you had a happy day...

Sucks about the tire bro.
On my commute to work, I go through Camden which is the "broken glass capital of NJ" it seems. I bought a new Gatorskin tire because the other one wore out and a few rides into it, I got a glass cut on the sidewall. Pretty bad one. I was able to boot it but it needed replaced. I was pissed off because they are not cheap tires so I decided on a switch to give the Marathons a try. The tire came in the other day and it is SWEEEEET. Will install this week.

Vote for me and they'll be drinking beer out of plastic bottles. Not that my name will ever be on the ballot, but I see a lot of those patches of glittery sparkles on the sides of the pavement. Gets me grouchy.

I do wish there was more of a regular cleanup on the streets and bike paths in that area but to understand Camden means that it's broke and poverty is high.

The glass I found in my tire was yellow... so it's not even something I can blame on beer. Probably remnants from one of the 80,000 construction projects going on in the great, broke state of California.

I had the same thing happen a couple weeks ago on my rear Michelin Lithion 2 riding after it rained. So much crap in the roads. Superglue to the rescue!
