Chicago Winter Swap meet
Well it's more like the Palatine Illinois swap meet, but more people know where Chicago is. Palatine is northwest of Chicago.
Just in case you need the date or directions:

I'll be there at 9:15 See you there

Perversely, it's the same day as the Madison event, which is likely to be more C&V oriented. At least that's what some of us are betting...

The maroons that made that decision should be drawn and quartered. I'll be in Madison as well, selling a handful of parts and I might even be selling some t-shirts that I"ll be making....

I should know more today, but a couple friends and I have been working on making some C and V t-shirts. Think along the lines of French 531, Jack Taylor, 3Rensho, Peugeot, Paramount, etc.... We have the artwork done. Now, I just need to see if we can get them printed at a decent price before the show...

I'll be selling at Madison also.....................
There are plenty of bikes for sale at Palatine but most in the bike corral are bike shop closeouts and the like.
I do not recall seeing the bike corral at Madison last year but have found some interesting bikes in years past.

Man, if we all go to Madison, some lucky SOB is going to walk into Palatine and walk off with Mario Confente's pesonal Masi for $20 bucks!
And, yeah, although there aren't a ton of compete bikes, I'd say that Madison has better vintage stock....

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it down for the swaps.
Both of my boys are in basketball tournaments that full weekend.
But I am looking for a mtb for my youngest son and would appreciate some eyes at the swaps.
If any of you would be willing, please pm me.
Also, I am very curious about the tshirts you are considering.
Please keep me in the loop as well.

Will do on both counts. Fair warning, I know nothing about MTBs. But, that's why Mario Confente invented camera phones...

I'll be at the Madison swap too, I remember a few years ago some of us met up there and had lunch. Any word on planning something like that again?

Might make Palatine if my flight back NJ isn't late but not holding my breath.

Both Madison & Palatine are good swaps, but Madison is much better IMHO. I was always selling at both when they were different dates. Madison well predates Palatine so it's unfortunate that the organizers couldn't agree on separate dates. Most people will not want to attend both unless the weather is unusually mild.

I'll be working a table, and not able to break away. But, be sure to stop by and say hello. I'll be selling some parts and some t-shirts. French Reynolds 531, Peugeot, and Paramount. Possibility of 3Rensho. We had to put a pause on the Jack Taylor (though it's my favorite), as it was a bit too expensive at this point. We may take the proceeds of these sales and pour back into some additional production, including the Taylor and another design or two that I've helped a friend put together.
And, if I can get it together, I may be mounting some Thai Buddhist amulets of protection so that they can be clamped to a bicycle seat tube (a la the Madonna Del Ghisallo medals). Who couldn't use a little extra protection when they're riding? I have a lot of Thai amulets (one even makes me bullet proof ) but they're all worn around your neck. I figure I'll mount some for my bikes and offer some for sale as well.....
See everybody Saturday!
