OT - New Tattoo
I have been wanting a tattoo to honor my mom (breast cancer) and brother (HIV/AIDS) and was finally able to do it. Hoped to get it done last week but tattoo guy was busy so couldn't get it done until yesterday. Now I am figuring out how to ride and keep it safe while it heals.
Here it is on back of right calf:
The pic was taken immediately after it was finished. My skin handled it w/o irritation.

Nice
My wife raced a crit on her new tat 2 days after she got hers. She took an old stocking and cut it. Just pulled it over the calf. Worked fine. Disclaimer I am not a tattoo specialist ;-)

Nice work !
Just keep it moist and it will be fine. Nothing tight fitting that can rub against it.

I wouldn't, for at least 2 weeks to give it good time to heal over and quit with any remaining peeling to lose more ink.
Although, I've had friends and teammates race the weekend after getting fresh work a few days earlier and it didn't seem to harm the quality of their work.

You COULD moisturize, then wrap it in saran wrap, then the warmer. THe problem with this is that the saran wrap keeps it from breathing, which can start bacterial problems. WHich is why better shops generally don't recommend it.
I'd just get a chilly leg, myself.

more worried about sun damaging it. May just go with some good sunscreen w/o dye or fragrance. Use knee warmers for keeping my knees warm initially.

Nice!
Just remember to not go heavy on the lotion, you want it moisturized but not damp.
It should feel soft and supple. I also stay away from lotion with alcohol...(I use triple or A&D and then creamy petroleum)
