bjorke, that's a very nice Friday you have. Is the main tube logo silk-screened on? It looks like your seat mast drops down to the right of the main tube... does the rear swing under to the right as well?
rhenning, wow, frame #2... you've had it for 19 years? I wonder how many miles you've ridden on yours. I'd love to check it out and compare it with a current one to see how the design has changed.
smallwheeler, your serial number is inside the head tube... trust me on this. Go ahead and disassemble it to see.

Biggest changes have been in gearing, the way the stem attaches and my frame has a top and down tube instead of the single tube used on new bikes. My bike for example the high gear is 60 to 11 and the low is 46 to 28. There were no Capreo's when it was made. The frame was really a preproduction bike. When I called to order a new one the fellow taking the order offered this one. The bike had been used for testing, problem solving and test riding. The price was 70% of a new one with a new paint job. 19 years later I still have it and yes it has a lot off miles on it. Roger

I took Amanda out to run a few errands this morning and then ride through some of my favorite cemeteries while listening to TON on my MP3 player. She really is a wonderful bike and handles extremely well whether bombing down hills and keeping up with traffic or riding up winding nature trails. Even did a few trials hops and stands up and down concrete steps and she was easy to balance and felt tractable. I'm seriously considering taking her to the bike/skate park a few miles from my house early in the a.m. tomorrow just to see what she feels like in the bowls and pipes.

I rode a brand-new one around the SF Bike Expo last year, the feel was surprisingly similar.

A cool true story: I needed to do some work on the RD. I called them because the LBS was stumped (it's kind of a DIY dual-drive Franken-derailleur: Campy Shifters and deraileurs, shimano gears in back, sachs 3x7 hub, no shiftmate). The receptionist asked my serial # and went to find the guy who made my bike, who set me (and my mechanic) 100% straight on how to work with it.

Not a Friday but a SOMA (small wheel but no fold) but it's from today... about 100 miles south of the previous pix, small wheels are great in traffic!

Upside down at lake Tahoe for a quick derailleur adjustment.
