Bike touring couple unheard from in Peru
This has been in the news here in the SF Bay Area. A couple bike touring in Peru un-heard from for a month. My thoughts and prayers go out to them.

No contact in one month sounds very bad. I guess there is always hope though.

Peru has quite a few terrorist and militant groups...I remember a few years back a particularly nasty one called Shining Path that kidnapped and killed tourists with some frequency. Their radical left groups use the Khmer Rouge as a model as I recall and can be a bit less genteel than our standards.

That sounds more promising! Hoping they just were off the grid for a few weeks (though you'd think they would have told family/friends they might be incommunicado for a while).

Not many details yet, but they are apparently safe and sound:

It sounds better that they were possibly seen 10 days ago in a remote area. that's still an unverified siting though. Hopefully they are simply out of contact and will be a little embarrassed when they check in.

Jaime would cut me some nice deals at my LBS. I'm glad they were found just having a good time.
