Took the Birdy out to the salt marshes on San Francisco Bay this afternoon (the Raleigh Superbe came as well).

About 40 years ago I worked on the project management of a gas collection and treatment facility built in Balikpapan, the client was Total Oil Marine I think, never got there at the time, but great to see the name again and some photos. Thanks for posting !

Hardpack beach is a lot of fun to ride, esp with a 15mph tailwind... and of course folders can often hop public transport for an easy ride upwind/back too .

Yeah it's heavy. Moulton's don't break any records for light weight to begin with (mine's around 13kg originally), and adding the electric drive pushed it to 21kg. Although with electric drive weight isn't an issue unless you need to carry it.

A red Brompton enjoying the view at Half Moon Bay California near the bike trail. The trail was opened recently after the collapsed bridge was rebuilt.
Same Brompton in hibernation mode. I remove the seat post to reduce the folding size and tie the bike together with an elastic velcro strap.

We had heavy rains in California this season (very good).
To avoid overflow at the Anderson damm, released large amount of water that flood the Coyote Creek bike trail. Here is some of the damage near the golf course.
Most of the trail is open now.
In the background is our faithful DT Nova. Still going like new and the wife would not replace it with any other bike.

Very clever! Put the Brompton in your Mini, then put your Mini on your keychain!

New to me resurrected Dahon 6 speed Boardwalk. Bringing a bike back to life while away from home is a bit frustrating and expensive, but in the long run (ride?) I think this will be a nice addition to the herd. Suppose I should mention the location. Quebec City along the St. Lawrence River.
