Schwalbe presta nuts in schrader hole.. nut on inside or outside?

I've been doing some searching about using presta tubes in schrader drilled rims. One thing i read was that the nut on Schwalbe tubes can be used as an adapter for schrader valves. I just happen to have some Schwalbe tubes and see the nut is stepped so that it will center in a schrader hole.

So.. when using the nut as an adapter.. does it go inside the rim? or outside like normal?

Outside. Of course its only suitable for threaded presta valve stems and lower profile rims with a flat top section - for those long unthreaded thingies used on higher profile aero rims you'll have to come up with a plastic or metal sleeve adaptor.

Personall I would still use the small tubular adapter that fits in the schrader rim hole. They only cost a couple of bucks.
