Hello,
I have toured by bike all around Japan for 10 years.
If you want to get informations about touring Japan, please check out my site "WADACHI - Enjoy cycling and drinking around Japan! - (www.geocities.jp/wadachi294/) " (It has tips and trouvelogues), or please discuss with me. I am not so good at English, so please forgive my impolite English.

I hope we can have lot of interesting discussions in this forum.

hi sora! do you take your name from the component group, or because you like riding the narrow road to the interior?

one of my club members is in japan right now. he says the cycling is awsome.

Hi velocipedio. "Sora" is another pronunciation of my name's Chinese character. Your Japanese member well know, we Japanese use Chinese character. And one character has several pronunciations.
And of course I know the the component group, I think maybe it is familiar to cyclists. So I decided.

I usually ride crossbike to the interior. I really agree your member, the long distance narrow road touring in Japan is really awesome.

sora was also basho's travelling companion in "the narrow road to the interior," so it's a fine choice of a name.

basho was one of your country's greatest poets. possibly the greatest. he was a 17th century master of the haiku. you probably read some of his poetry in school.

"the narrow road to the interior" is a kind of travelougue and collection of poems he wrote when he walked from edo to hiraizumi, through oku and back along the north coast to ogaki in 1689. his travelling companion ws another poet named sora.

Welcome to the forum, my fellow paisano! I'm a Hamakko, born and raised. As a 'Happa', I lived in the Honmoku area for almost 20 years. We have several members here on the forum from Japan. Your website is very interesting..... I especially like the instructions and manners in regards to sento. Are mountains bikes regarded as 'cross' bikes in Japan? I see you refer your bikes as such. Anyway, enjoyed your site and will be visiting often. Jia ne...

Hi "Hamakko ed" George,
thank you for coming my site.
What do you think about my site? Is it enough or not enough? I want to provide really useful imformations , not in guidebook, for foreign people. Maybe you know both (Japanese and foreign people) feelings.
Crossbike is crossbike and mountain bike is mountain bike in Japan. Maybe my English is not good, sorry.

Welcome to my site and I hope you give me your opinion about my site.
Mata ne...

By the way, what is "paisano"? Sorry, I don't know....

Hi cdo4,
thank you for your message.

I am very happy that many people (of course including you!) watch my message in bad English and reply to me. It is the most interesting point of forums, I think.

Please check my site and give your opinion.

Happy biking, too! Kochira koso Yoroshiku!!

Suga san,

The word "paisano" is Spanish and it refers to someone who's originally from the same country or region within a country. Hope that makes sense. I live in Los Angeles so a little knowledge of Spanish is required for survival here.
I do mini-tours, but strictly within my region here in Southern California as my work schedule does not allow me to leave for extended periods of time. I like to use my mountain bike for local off road camping trips into the local mountains or desert, either pulling a single-wheeled trailer or using panniers.

Hi George san, f^_^;

Thank you for teaching me about "paisano". I must remember. It is good Spanish for me.

Off road camping trips into the desert is very interesting for me. As you know there is no desert in Japan. I have something yearing to desert. Someday I will tour desert by bike. But before that, I have to overhaul my mountainbike. f^_^;
