Old tube tie downs??

Recently I bought a post mounted rack for my road bike.I want to carry my clothe and stuff to my PT job at my LBS. I pu tmy stuff in a a small nylon duffle and started with cheapie 1/4"diameter bungies from Home Depot, my former PT job. I seem to get too much sliding with this set-up. So my wife made me a couple web straps and still the sliding.
Has anyone devised a strap using old tubes but with some kind of buckle?

I have some hooks from IT Clips that you can use with old inner tubes to make some good straps. I have some 1.5" wide webbing straps with Velcro that work pretty good too, no clue where they came from.

Old tubes make great tie downs but I've never used a buckle or a webstrap. You could just tie the ends together in a knot.

That's what I was going to say. Old bicycle inner tubes have just the right amount of stretch and the price is right too.

While out on a ride this afternoon we stopped at Walmart and my wife ran in to get some stuff and found some plastic buckle, the type you use with webbing. There will work great with some old tubes!
