Specialized 2014 Release/Re-Stock Date?
Last Friday I went to the LBS and test drove/fell in love with the Specialized Allez Compact. However, before I buy it, I was wondering if I should wait until Specialized releases their 2014 line, to see if I like the looks better, if there are any upgrades, or can get a better deal on the 2013. Only one problem: I have no clue when they release NOR when the new models actually arrive at the shops.* Thanks for the help!
*I have found info from last years, they released in early July, but I don't know if that's the norm nor when they arrive

I was wondering the same thing, but for a Roubaix. I posted earlier, and the response I got was Aug/Sept. But, the impression I am gitting from dealing with the LBSs is that it will be much earlier that that, like early July, but who knows.

My recollection is that manufacturers will start to publicize the new bikes towards the end of July, right around the end of the Tour de France. Bikes will hit stores a few months later.
The annual refresh is a crapshoot. Some colors get better, some worse. Sometimes parts get better, sometimes they'll downgrade the frame or the wheels....
Waiting is also crapshoot. They might not have your size, you might not get a big discount.
I'd just say if you need the bike and you like what you see, you might as well do it. If you don't need it and you're on the fence about color and parts, then wait.

The Roubaix is coming before the allez and tarmac, due to the fact that they are out of them. The allez probably wont be 2014s until octoberish for the full line, maybe a few models here or there before that

You should start seeing 11 speed for 2014. Or what sram calls true 22 gearing. My LBS says that shimano will start pushing 11 speed di2.

The latest intel I gathered indicates that the possible release of the 2014 Roubaix's will happened a bit later than I was originally lead to believe - like Aug/Sept. But who knows. I went ahead and sprung for a 2013 Roubaix...

Specialized Tarmac Pro 2013 vs 2014
Test rode the 2013 Pro with Dura Ace components. If you haven't had the experience, shifting was like putting a knife through soft butter. Loved it! In saying that, it's August and would welcome thoughts on when new Tarmac Pro's may be rolling out and what could be percentage cost savings if I stick with the '13s vs '14s? Thanks all

The two local Specialized dealers: one a Mike's Bike location and the other a reputable local shop, both indicated they're not anticipated having '14s for sale until late September. Obviously timelines can change but that's what they're being told by management/warehouse.
