Ohio State Track Championships
I got to visit the Cleveland (Ohio) velodrome this past weekend. It was my first visit to a velodrome and I got to watch a couple of hours of the Ohio state championships. The track looked great and everyone competiting impressed the heck outta me! I might just have to try this track riding for myself one day.
I put up about 65 or so pictures of the event on photobucket:

I love hearing this. It seems to me most folks from other disciplines (apart from BMX maybe) are somewhat apprehensive about trying track racing. I'm glad you're enthusiastic about it, and you should be on the lookout for a Try the Track clinic!

My home track! Very excited to see folks posting about the Cleveland Velodrome. It hasn't been open long (construction finished late late summer), but there's quite a track community growing already.
I'd encourage anyone (particularly those with a background in other disciplines) to come out and give it a try - great training, great fun. I help out with one of the local collegiate teams, and even though new riders can be apprehensive about it at first (the banking is pretty steep), just about everyone walks away with a huge smile. Most fun you can have on a bike in 166 meters, I'd say.
