Check with the LBS.. see what their distributors have to ship, to the shop,
if not hanging on the wall when you walk in there..

retail includes shipping if you get it there.

I agree wholeheartedly with Nightshade's first suggestion: the Wald 867. I run these bars, and I love 'em. They certainly do have a similar look to the so-called "Bosco" bars, but they are narrower than any of the options that Riv sells (50.8mm), and have way less usable space on the grip area, which is critical if you have brake levers AND shift levers AND a bell AND other stuff, too. But they cost 1/4" of what the Bosco does, and they're made in Kentucky.

If you're gonna be a cruiser person, you'll need to get acquainted with Wald and all of the cool, cheap, and useful stuff they offer...

I don't know where you at but here in Portland we have a place called City Bikes that sell used bike parts and over stocks. I would look around where you live for a like shop. Also bike swap meets would also be a good place to look. I have found new parts at 1/2 the price.

It seems like about a year ago that Wald got out of the handlebar biz. I checked the website & they're still not listed. Tons for sale out there though.
They've cut back on some of the old basket styles too, but they've added some new models.

Nope. They only have items that they sell factory-direct to the consumers on their website now. The stuff that they offer only thru dealers/retailers isn't on the website, but they still make bars, stems, headsets, kickstands, opc bbs, posts, fenders, etc. You just need to buy it at a lbs or an online retailer; not available straight from Wald. I spoke w/ them about it at the Phila bike Expo a few weeks back....

If you want light , look on Amazon for Torker Boardwalk Cruiser Alloy Handlebar - 25", Silver . Or go straight to Niagara cycle works . $12.60 plus shipping . I ordered some a couple weeks ago , but haven't had a chance to use them . They look nice and are lighter than the steel ones . Kirby

Yeah, that's prolly lighter, but it's more of a traditional cruiser bar; the Bosco and the Wald 867 that they're s'posedly trying to emulate have more of a "Scout" bend to them

That's good to know, but without the excellent details they used to have on the site, how are you supposed to know if an 896 comes straight back, or an 828 fits a different stem etc...etc...
It's a pity they don't list the info & mark it LBS only.

Thanks, I can't imagine their reasoning. There again, I can't understand why they don't make the 898 (28"wide) with 2 1/2" more "up", lol. Ever notice how most cruiser riders have the bars angled in a "swept up" fashion? Unless you have Gorilla arms, it's the only way to ride close to upright and comfy.

Totally unqualified to speak for Wald, but the main idea was that they're reluctant to sell stuff direct if it's the sort of thing where you need to kinda know what you're doing to install it, and if you mess it up, you'd get hurt. That's handlebars and headsets to a T, and really fenders too... because a fender that was installed improperly could jam the wheel and cause a crash. So, they used to have the website with almost everything (no headsets/BBs even a few years back, though) but only the baskets and racks with prices and the option to buy direct. apparently, this caused folks to email them constantly about "how can i order the xyz? The "buy it now" button is missing."

So, they dumped the dealer-only stuff from the site. But I still can't believe this was wisest. They only showed baskets and racks at the bike expo; I think a lot of bikenerds would be stoked with the bars at least...

Needless to say, I'm a massive Wald fan. When ppl replace stock bars on a cruiser with anything else, I feel sort of betrayed. I gotta say, though, that i am in the minority among most cruiser guys; I kinda like the bars low slung. Those who don't should get the dang # 511.

I'm a fat guy, with short arms, so cruiser bars just don't come quite far enough back and have nowhere near rise enough rise. I haven't tried a Torker, I think they claim 4 1/2" or so.
By the way, I found this! Now I fell somewhat akin to a fool.

Nice that you found the old page. I guess they left it up, but took all the links to the old stuff off the main site? Still, a nice find, although I'm already familiar with most all of their bars.... Looks like just https://waldsports.qbsoft.com/ will get you to the old homepage....
