Affordable Powermeters for Garmin

I like a suggestion of an affordable Powermeter. I have a Garmin 500 Bike Computer.
Looking at many powermeters, many are like $3000. I would like suggestions of one that is quite low price. I know the accuracy would be abit off with a cheaper model, but as long its ball park figure. thanks

Assuming you have a crankset they support. For their prices and unproven track record, I'd look on eBay for a used PowerTap wheel, or wheelset. Then again, the price at Performance is a good deal and you have a complete, new wheelset with a proven power meter.

Good points to consider. Here's a "in depth" review of the Stages PM. https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2013/06/s...ew-update.html

Wow. He publishes great reviews.

Here's a summary on the Stages:
Pros:
- Cheapest direct force power meter on market today
- Easy to install. Silly easy.
- Tons of crank compatibility options
- Accelerometer based cadence measurement works really well
- Utilizes standard CR2032 user-replaceable battery
- Automatically compensates for temperature changes
- Lightweight – 20g

Cons:
- Left leg dependent, simply doubles left leg power
- Total power could be highly impacted by your left/right distribution (but I didn’t see this)
- No method of end-user calibration validation (for advanced users)
- Doesn’t support Rotor cranks/arms as of today, or carbon crank arms

Power Tap just lowered the price of their hubs by over $500. Now comparable to Stages. https://www.bikeradar.com/road/news/a...es-drop-38034/

Contact Ric Becker at House of Tandems (ric@houseoftandems.com). He can put a Quarq on a square taper BB. Might involve alternate crankarms to do it though. If you look at their website and scroll down a ways on the front page, you'll see two Quarqs on our blue daVinci tandem.
