Why does my keyboard Enter button not work anymore here?

It works fine everywhere else, so it isn't my keyboard.

A lot of times when posting, I cannot start a new paragraph because nothing happens when I hit my enter button.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

I can't reproduce the problem.

What OS and Browser? I need more information to try to help you. I checked your settings and you're on the advanced editor, so that's not it.

Various versions of Internet Explorer, depending on my location. All of them have the same problem. Presently I am on Internet Explorer 10.

Indeed, came here to make a new post about this exact same issue. Enter not working on IE 10 on Windows 8. I've never used IE 10 before yesterday so I don't know how long this has been happening.

Other vBulletin sites seem to be working fine.

Incidentally, I CTRL+C'd the newline break right after the [/QUOTE] block in this comment and CTRL+V'd for my text, so maybe an admin can see if it's posting as a \r\n or \n or what.

edit 2: Huh, the advanced editor seems to work as intended. For me, the problem seems to be limited to the Quick Reply features and Editing a post in-place in the thread.

I'm using IE10 on Windows 8 (in Windows 8 mode, no less)...

and I had no problem with my Enter key.

Edit: It isn't in W8 mode, just full screen

My enter key suddenly stopped working in the Quick Reply section a few months ago (April?).

I discovered that you have to go to advanced every time you make a reply that contains more than one paragraph.

And yes, this is the only site I've encountered this new "feature" on.

(I'm on IE10)

I have been experiencing the same "issue" since getting Win8 with my new laptop. I get around it by hitting one of the editing buttons...the one at the far left of the tool bar. (The one with two letter As).

I have this issue escalated to our project manager. Soon as I find out more, we'll revisit this and ask for patience for the moment. He's going to have to dive into the source code, I'd imagine.

At the same time it started, automatic spell check also started. I figured it was an IE10 "feature".

When you hover your mouse over it, it says, "Switch Editor to Source Mode". I don't know what that means, but maybe IE10 forces us to use something other than advanced editor behind the scenes????
