Not Exactly a good job SFPD

Read what happened and tell me that was an acceptable performance by SFPD. They are a disgraceful group of anti-cycling bigots.

The police behavior is unbelievable and amazing--incredibly bias and sloppy if not criminal!

Heads should roll, some should face criminal justice and plenty of civil lawsuits!

Unfortunately it will not bring back Amelie Le Moullac--Condolence to her family and friends.

KTVU really seems to be lobbing softballs on this one... yeesh. I can't say I'm surprised by the SFPD performance honestly... so that's a wash right there.

Here's a much better written piece:
Police find truck driver at fault in collision that killed cyclist Amelie Le Moullac

https://www.almanacnews.com/news/show_story.php?id=14327

So we have
1) A poor investigation
2) One rude dumbass cop who doesn't understand the right hook, and
3) A chief that recognizes and tries to un-do the damage.

There a line from "Tom Thumb's Blues" that goes: Don't put on any airs when you're down on Rue Morgue Avenue, because the cops don't need you, and man they expect the same.

I never really understood the lyric's meaning until things like this happen. But I really think a preponderance of police would like to see bicycles banned entirely from all public roadways. As I've stated before, unless the driver's actions are really egregious (or is drunk or flees an accident) it's almost impossible to conceive of a police report affixing blame to a driver. This is simply the way the world works. Don't have any expectations of it being otherwise.

The police "investigation" was lame and lazy with all the passion involved of a Fry's salesman demonstrating a $40 toaster oven. Simply amazing that that the activists had to bring to the PD's "professional" investigators attention that there was a business surveillance camera whose data was precariously close to being overwritten.

From what I read on the SFBC page, the police outright lied about looking for a video of the incident. The SFBC person walked into the auto place and they had no problem with them using their video. If the SFBC person had been there ONE DAY later, the video would have looped around and started recording over itself.
