I bet it also works well for not freezing your fingers off.
I've got to do that - photojoe was bellyaching about my clinking on the ride.

+1. Hopefully, anyway. I just went tubeless last weekend. ZTR Alpha 400s. Black DT spokes with black brass nipples. Red red Chris King hubs, which my LBS sold me at wholesale. Schwalbe tires. Will be putting them to the test this weekend during our annual ride from New Hope, PA to Brooklyn, NY.

I use rubber tubing on my metal paintball gear so I don't sound like the stinkin ice cream man when playing.
But great idea nonetheless.

But I LIKE hearing the CO2 cartridges clinking in my seat bag. If I can still hear them, it means I'm still alive!!

Awesome wheelset build!! I'm running Alpha 400's on CXray spokes, blu alum nips, old neuvation hubs w/ ceramic bearing upgade, 25C Hutchinson Intense tires. I haven't had a flat for the near 1000mile in 2months they been on the bike. They are about 100grams lighter then the Spinergy PBO Xaero I was running, smoother and faster to spin up and at speeds. Switching back to the PBOs for a ride and I can feel the wind drag over 15mph pretty easy.

Wait, you have MORE new wheels?
I'm fascinated by tubeless and will get around to it sooner than later, I think. I was watching (by accident) last year's Iron Man and the guy in the lead on the bike portion had a flat front tire. it was alternately sad/comical - he got the wheel off, got his patch kit out (or maybe a spare tube) and couldn't get the wheel off the rim. His hands looked like they were shaking, which is understandable but he basically lost 5 min. waiting for a neutral service motorbike to catch up and give him a loaner front.
Why would people in those races use regular tires & tubes? It makes no sense.

Yes.....I might have a problem....but I did sell the shimano wheels that came w/ the super6. Those only had 100 miles on them top. Wifey hasn't notice new wheels yet
Oh and I just got an awesome set for my singlespeed 29er last week
Blue HOPE hubs, DT comp spokes, blue alum nips and WTB Frequency tubeless rims
The rear hub sounds CRAZY!!!

Mine are all old - not a set that are newer than 3 years old and some are 15 years old, so I just keep them for sentimental reasons. Or mental reasons.
Mr. Kettle, on the other hand, has several new sets within the last 2 years! I don't think he rides the same set twice!
