I was doing some wheelies today and started to wonder how long everone else is doing them. So, how long is your longest wheelie? Mine was ~185 ft.........uphill on gravel.

My longest so far is probably close to 75-100 feet, I havent actually measured but i know i can do ten parking spaces width wise.

I've done longer front wheel wheelies than rear wheel ones..... Usually preceeding a wipe-out.

Ive dont a 200ft wheelie. Its fairly easy. Nah, just messing. Probably about fourty to fifty feet?

You serious? I thought youd pull at least a 5'. The longest for me is only about 9 feet.

Not very long... I'm proud of a 15' foot manual when I pull one off (done it a couple times). Maybe 40 feet for a wheelie? Haven't practiced pedaling ones lately.

I have to cuz its the only trick I can do right now but I can do it
on any bike I have for as long as I need too.....around corners in the parking garage
too as long as it is a mild up-hill slope.
I have a low rider bike with huge apes that Im trying to wheelie but the bars pull
back.........the best wheelie bike Ive ever owned is a HUGE, old Raleigh Technium
from 1985 but I taco'ed the rear wheel trying to do front wheel stoppies.

Some people have the wheelie gene - I don't. However, the longest I have done was last year on a road bike with a group up a hill - witnesses say 100 yards - I say more like 100 feet.

scratch that last post probably around 20 yards

uphill is easier, so I did it to the moon and back, but on flat land about 50ft, sometimes 60

You'll have to show me that road that goes up to the moon sometime.

The longest I've done is about 10-12 feet (at the max)

I have a friend who could (his bike got stolen) wheelie the whole length on one of our main streets on a Giant Rainier, and its a little over a quarter of a mile.

A single speed bike is the easiest to wheelie but if you dont have one
lying around using the lower gears is what I find gets distance.
Using first and second are easy for yanking it up but you run out of gear too
fast and the bike is a little harder to balance at the slower speed with your legs pumping real hard.
If you can hoik it way up in 3rd or 4th to its balance point but peddle real
slow, with even a little brake if you have to (not the front one =:-P), that is
how you get distance.
Also, you naturally tend to torque to one side when you first start out.....
Try to concentrate on keeping the bike & bars perfectly straight when you
yank the front wheel up to the balance point.
I tried shifting a few times in mid air but busted my twig 'n berries enuff
to be very afraid of this technique =:-O
A good place to start and get used to the front end coming up if you are a complete beginner is to go real slow and yank the front end all the way up and jump off the
back of the bike while still holding the bars. You will learn how much it takes to pull it up but also how to jump off if it starts to go over backwards which it will do at some point in you wheelie career !
Once you feel out your bikes balance point (PRACTICE!)and are comfortable
all the fun stuff comes naturally......cross-ups, being able to make turns, flipping off your friends, etc...........

That would be cool, but no chance of me being able to do that, my max is about 25 foot

Longest wheelie, I guess about 30 meters. Don't really care about all that though, I'd rather stay on the ground with both wheels
