The Armstrong Lie movie opens
I just noticed that The Armstrong Lie movie opens 11-15. It's even going to be in Pleasant Hill, kind of near where I live.
I'm seriously considering going, even though know the story and I'm sure will be totally depressed afterward.
How about you all?

I might go see it...although I'm not sure why? It will indeed make me depressed and I am no longer a fan...and I was a BIG fan.
If I do go, I sure hope LA doesn't' benefit from my senior discount.

I'll probably go see it, even though my west coast geocentrism prevented me from being a fan of LA. That turned out to be a good thing since I don't feel betrayed or bothered in the slightest at his demise.

Can't say I'm 100% sure I'll see it, but I'm pretty sure I will.

I didn't even know about it. I probably won't see it just because I don't go to movies... I'd watch it on TV though... maybe even pay for an Amazon download on my Roku.
I always enjoyed watching him... never thought of him as a hero but I did kind of do the denial dance.
Remember when the talk was about who would play Lance in the hero movie? Matt Damon was one candidate... I'll bet he's glad that one never happened.

Thinking about Napoleon and Santa Ana, both had empires, both lost empires, twice, both came back, three times, Lance has yet to get to 2
Drugs have always been involved

No intention to see it. Have read all the articles I doubt the movie will add more substance. It was a sad era for sports in general and LA was certainly the smartest of all at the game of cheating and deceiving. With hard work, smarts, bravado, and arrogance he became the 'best of the cheats'.
I just hope that the public starts to understand that doping was and still is not a cycling only issue. Many pro and amateur sports still have way too many loopholes to prevent cheating. Prevention and testing is so expensive that there are still many kids using enhancements in high school and college sports. Unfortunately money has more power than common sense and most of the public doesn't care about the long term effect of these products on kids' health.

I'll see it eventually. Probably when it comes out on NetFlix.

Really, the only problem I have with him is how he used cancer as a crutch, saying he'd never cheat because he's had such a deadly disease, and why would he take dangerous drugs, yada yada. The way those cancer patients looked up to him and he lied about it to them, that's just wrong. Very wrong. The crap about this doctor, or that soigneur, and how mean he was to them...who cares, grow up this is professional sports. A dirty sport in which everyone involved knows it.

I don't know. That's a little brutal. I watched "All the President's Men" and I'm going to see this.
I hope it has bicycles...

Then I'll come home and do my yearly viewing of Breaking Away. (Tip of the hat to DiabloScott for posting the perfect video clip.)

Two cent no details review:
Some beautiful, wonderful cycling footage
Lasts about 30 minutes too long
Lance is exactly what you think, but even more.

Uh, maybe you shouldn't go see it then.
Thanks, in that case I think I'll spend my money on a new water bottle cage.

Lance Armstrong claims former Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) president Hein Verbruggen was directly involved in covering up his positive test for corticosteroid during the 1999 Tour de France.
Well this'll be interesting - I wonder what took him so long. I suppose if you really want clean cycling you gotta expose the suits as well - Paddy and Hein vs Lance in an all out smack-down.

The wife and I tried to see it in Berkeley on Saturday. It wasn't being shown for "technical reasons." We had a giggle wondering if Lance had his "people" sabotage the screening. Then we saw "Gravity" instead.
Except that LO is, and has always been, a bit more, shall we say, flamboyant than LA.

Release date depends on your local theater. The movie won't be playing by me for another 10 days.
That said, I have no interest in the movie. Then again, I have no interest in professional cycling in general. I prefer to play sports, not watch them.

Had the pleasure of seeing the movie with Curtis & Tricia. My take...LA is still lying.
Again I will state my opinion:I Don't care what you do to your kidney's and liver. I care how you treat people, especially when in a position of power or influence.
