Are you telling me you believe Lotus, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Corvette represent "most new cars" ? Let's recap. The car that started this thread is a tarted up subaru. The post merlin responded to was referencing a fairly pedestrian sedan. And suddenly you think this thread is only talking about exotic cars?

I keep getting tempted by the Seasucker, but it seems like an awful lot of money for what is essentially a few vacuum/suction cups.

I quoted Merlin stating the reason why a Porsche would be my next sports car, since my Audi does not have this hence the reason i use a seasucker. You specifically quoted me telling me this is something that is mostly on all new vehicles. Since I was quoting a sports car and i drive a sports car, why would you think i meant anything else?
maybe i should have said instead, the hidden mounts are a great idea on exotics/sports cars for this purpose.

I'd trust a Seasucker-like rack if it had pressure monitors that would alert of low vacuum...kind of like tire pressure sensors that are common nowadays. ...or maybe a small electric pump that kept the suckers evacuated.
That said, I know guys with hitches on their Porches and Jags. This would be my preferred approach.

Finally got a mini bomber. Does anyone know a good substitute for this?
Cable Anchor ? Trunk | SeaSucker
I don't feel like paying $30. There has to be a cheaper alternative.

Interesting. I was going to replace the rear wing on the 'Stang with a custom mount for two bikes (one left, one rights, over the wing bolt points) to a gutterless bracket mount for the front axles. But a Hidden Hitch made more sense. I'd worry about the window seal. The modern window glues are damn good but that's additional jarring force constantly pulling up on the seal. Also, I can't imagine cold weather is good for the rubber suction (can you reseal with bikes loaded?). Finally...is this a theft waiting to happen with nothing more than a thin blade, hat pin or ice pick jammed under the suction mount?
