They ride in snow, but this guy is on his road bike and it's a lot of snow on the main road...It's silly if you ask me lol I would rather choose mountain bike for this kind of conditions.

Nah, it's an article about panic in US when snow falls... They are right about that...Never heard about "snow days" anywhere else, plus, it's tragic that people in south can't drive when roads are slippery...Anyone who got his DL should be able to drive in almost any condition... And that's why I choose side roads, trails or shared bicycle paths instead of main roads. Not planning to die anytime soon ;-) Stay safe everyone!

Insane, I would not ride in this weather period, especially where I live. The real danger is the narrowing roads after heavy snowfall where you really have nowhere to break away to if you're in eminent danger. It's bad enough when I got out for a run, and have no sidewalk or shoulder and keep to the side of the road. I notice alot around where I live most people behind the wheel of a vehicle have NO respect for cyclists, runners, let alone pedestrians. People can barely share the road with each other when driving as it is!

I did a ride a few weekends ago on roads where there was often several inches of snow, and plenty of riders used their regular road bikes with skinny tires. It's impressive what you can do with a road bike.
