What's up with these Campagnolo shift/brake levers?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What's up with these Campagnolo shift/brake levers?

I see them pop up on eBay now and then. They claim to be produced this year, but be 2007 version of Record and Chorus shifters. I am tempted to buy them. I have no reason not to believe the claims that are made, but I am curious. Does Campy continue to produce popular product lines while pushing new stuff? Are these perhaps typically available in Europe but not here? Drew E, I'm thinking you may have some insight into this.

Now that I'm thinking of it... I had always thought Ribble just had "left overs." Are these the same source?

I wondered the same thing and contacted one of the sellers and they insisted the listing is correct. However, I rode my bike the other day that has the old hood design and I much prefer the newer design on my other bikes.

Several reliable resources have told me that camoagnolo makes a small run of 10spd record ergos, derailleurs, and cassettes every year. Chorus wasn't mentioned, but I've seen more than one retailer list 2014 chorus levers.

That doesn't make them a 2014 MY product. They would still be a 2008 MY product produced in 2014.
