Need advice on what I should do to paint my bike

I have a 2008 stolen wrap all Mattel black all stock. I replaced the back wheel about a week ago with the stock wheel. I've decided I want to paint parts on my bike. I want to paint my neck and my rims dark blue, would it be a better idea to buy new parts the color I want or have it professionally painted. Which would be cheaper? Thanks in advance!

If you want the paint to last, buy the parts already in the color you want. They are powder coated, not painted. It's a process where the color is basically "baked" on the metal, and this process really makes it hard. You CAN use auto paint, but if you look at it wrong, it'll chip and scratch (a little sarcastic there).

If you won't mess up with your first try it would be cheaper that having it done in a shop but if you are not that confident, better pay instead of spending double with paint.
