If I get sick do I repeat a week in "Time Crunched Cyclist" by Chris C?

Ahh! My training book "The Time Crunched Cyclist" is falling apart because I read and study it so much. I have highlighted all of the important topics except one: what to do if I get sick. I came down with Strep Throat in the middle of week 6 and have been off for four days. I KNOW I read about the protocol for a sick week but can NOT find it and I am going crazy!

Do I repeat the last week I didnt finish?

Or

Do I move onto the next week which will ironically start with a three day off bike recovery period.

Thanks for your input!

I've been coached by CTS coaches for a number of years now. One consistent principal they've maintained is that you can't try to make up for past lost workouts. You just move forward with the schedule.

Also if you had strep throat you likely need the recovery time. To the extent you feel like it, I'd do a recovery ride or two, instead of completely off the bike, but otherwise stick with the plan.

whatever book you're reading:

1 - get well
2 - recover from the illness completely
3 - train again when you're 90% back to normal. be honest with yourself.

if you're following carmichael, i'd suggest a few extra drops of the oil, with a fresh bag of blood.

Haha. Love it.

...Thanks for the replies guys. Hearing you all suggest to take it easy made me realize that jumping straight back into intervals would have been a disaster. T.C.C. states that recovery is most important so that is what I will do.

Thank you very much!
