No - not with Big Apples due to limitations of the seat stays. 2.35" is too large for the Muirwoods. My bike shop mechanic told me you can fit up to 29 X 2.00 tires on it. Its the max possible with balloon tires.

I just ordered a Muirwoods from ebay partly because of this thread. It should arrive in a week or so, can't wait! They seem like really nice bikes.

They are. I finally bit the bullet and I'm having the bike shop complete the build. I'm swapping out the saddle, bars and possibly looking into getting wider platform pedals.
Its designed for urban use but because its built with a mountain bike tough frame on top of the 29er platform, it can be taken off-road as well with even wider tires.
I hope you enjoy yours when you get it.

Thanks, I'm sure I will. A tire upgrade is the first thing I have planned for it, there are some nice gravel trails in my area that I plan on riding.

That's one of the reasons I liked in getting a 29er. Its a do-it-all bike and a steel bike that came in under budget for fun was one of the things I wanted. It has potential to be upgraded. Its a practical bike and I'm happy with it.
