Help Sizing a Colnago CLX
I am about to buy a new Colnago CLX frame. There are no dealers in my area and none to test. I visited a shop while on vacation a few months ago and they advised me a 59cm frame.
I am:
Height: 6'1
Inseam:35"
Torso: 26"
Arm: 25"
Femur: 21"
I currently ride a 61cm Felt Z95
Top Tube Horizontal: 595
Top Tube Center to Center 571
HeadTube Length 220
Seat Tube Center to Center 495
Stand Over 795
Reach 406
Stack 619
Colnago geometry:
GEOMETRY CLX 3
I have a smoking deal on a new 59cm Colnago CLX frame and want to pull the trigger but need confirmation that the size is correct.
Any help would be most appreciated.

You should be familiar with what size bike you need before spending the kind of money
the Colnago Name fetches ..
have you analyzed whats wrong with what you ride already? 59 from 61 It's only 2 cm smaller .
and the Current race posture is low on the front . so why not go with the shop suggestion where they saw you .
did you ride one, there?
I used to match the top tubes on my bikes , which are decidedly un racer style by todays standards,
sloping top tubes just require more seat post out if the seat tube is shorter.

fietsbob is right, it's the horizontal top tube measurement you want to size by. ETT on your current ride is 595. If that's a good fit, then the 59 CLX has the exact same ETT and can be made to fit similarly. Head tube on the CLX is about 17 mm shorter so you'll end up with a larger saddle to bar drop unless you run more spacers or increase the stem angle. Some would argue that if you really want the additional stack height, you should select a frame with a more relaxed geometry.

I looked at a Colnago in a bike shop while out of town a few months ago. The guy told me that he would put me in a 59. All that he had in his shop were 54's though so I could not hop on one.
For the price, it is worth it. I think that my LBS will be able to fit me on this one once we piece it together. It will be interesting to see if the Bike, which is coming from Colorado, will get here before my wheels, which are coming from PBK in Europe. My Ribble orders usually take about 2-2 1/2 weeks to arrive. Hopefully the wheels and tires will be about the same as I ordered them on Monday that just past. come to think about it, my seat is arriving with them as well. It would be hard to look at that frame and not ride it right away, especially since somebody just bought my Felt road bike 2 days ago. I guess I will have to ride on my hybrid or mtb until then.
