Vintage Raleigh 12 speed - $125

"Needs new cables. Put a bit of work into this sweet ride."

I like the look of it and it would be my first road bike and also a "project bike" for me to tinker with (have a commuter i mainly use).

But the chain looks rusty and "new cables", does that mean new gear or brake cables or both?

Owner is asking $125. I was going to try for $80. Too much?

If a owner state something like needs new cables on a bike this age figure it needs a complete rebuild and some components. Fairly low end bike missing parts needs a bunch of work $70-80 is about as high as you want to go on this one. If you can't do or most of the work to fix it up yourself you should probably pass on this one.

Thanks zuk.

I'll shoot for $60. I haven't done a rebuild on a bike before but want to try.
