That's exactly what they told me. The problem is I said "ok, put that in writing that my bikes are covered, full replacement value" "well we can't do that until you sign up..."

Exactly what I was thinking.. I laughed out loud but then stopped really suddenly again. I think she pushed the joke more than anyone else, personally. Everyone else just did the variations on the standard grossout (not that some of them weren't hilarious).

8 P.M. start behind the Cavern. It is scavenger hunt style so bring a bag and prolly a lock as well. The flyer says a helmet...not sure if that is mandatory though. Typically these will have a list of items to pick up along the way for points and a list of mandatory checkpoints as well.
*Insider tip....find a partner and do it as a team*

I just don't like the CO2 'cause it's expensive and I don't like the waste when you're done.

Unless you're talking about CO2 systems for growing... in which case I have no comment.

Yeah, I don't plan on using it regularly. I already have a road pump. But I've been considering getting one to use while doing mtn bike races.

Speaking of which
Cavernmech: I need to talk Paris-Ancaster with you. Wondering if you got room on the sag wagon for my ride (and/or myself) or whether I should borrow my buddy's rack to put on my car.

Ah, well racing is another scenario. My CO2 you press on the cartridge to inflate, on tam's version you have to twist a nozzle while you hold it. The press to inflate version is much easier and faster I've found.

I just checked mine and the brand is "Genuine Innovations" The cartridges cost a fortune though! (like $15 for 3!- but that's at duke's mind you)

I can't stand trunk racks, so I'll continue to whine about how expensive roof racks are and not have anything.

We rigged up a pretty good little system with a CO2 tank from a beer tap, a solenoid valve from active surplus, a lamp timer and some perforated surgical tubing. We set it so it would go off for 15 minute periods twice a day, controlling the total flow with the main tank valve. We made sure not to enter the room during or immediately after releasing the CO2 as we didn't want to suffocate (even though we weren't pumping that much out.. safety first!) When we ran out of C02 we just didn't bother getting a refill and just went with 2 litre bottles filled with sugar, yeast and water. Its a safer, cheaper setup, but can be messy and requires feeding and shaking every now and then. Also natural, but generates new CO2 compared to CO2 tanks which generally use recycled CO2...

Yeah, roof racks are WAY better but they're also not 35bucks!

A thule/yakima combo with bars and two carriers will run you ~700. I sold my VW compatible yakima racks (bars only, no carriers) used for 150 for an idea on cost.

I think Mindy is gonna come in which case I will be stopping at the Registration/Finish to sign in then have her take me to the start. I can't stand the waits for the buses and trucks to take all to the start. I think Dave is coming with me...other than that I should have room for bikes and/or 1 person. If need be I can put the extra racks on the roof but I am planning on putting mine and Daves bikes inside the van. We will tawk.
