CXP22/Formula wheelset

Anyone know if this is a QBP product or a Harris build?

According to harris's site, "In addition to custom wheels, we offer stock wheels, machine built unless otherwise indicated"
So I would say it is safe to assume that they are machine built, probably by another company.

Email to make sure, though.

Cool - I was curious because I'm building up a ride for someone and wanted to know if this could be ordered locally.

I don't think that they are built by QBP, because the QBP wheelbuild section is separate.
Formula might build them at their factory??

I emailed Sheldon, we'll see what he says - but I think they're not quite QBP either or if they are, they're specific to Harris.

I think those are machine built simply because nashbar was offering a deal on those same exact rims/hubs for 149...could be that a machine makes em, and then a company ships em out as full wheelsets.

I don't believe they're not exclusive to any shop. My LBS has sold a bunch of those sets.

A machine can lace a wheel. A human can lace a wheel. 20 years ago I loaded an italian wheelbuilding machine. It only did the lacing and drew up the nipples. It was trued, tensioned and stress relieved by a human...Me. The new machines do the whole enchalada. Reasonably well. Can you when you buy a wheelset tell if it was hand laced, tensioned, stress relieved and trued by a human by looking at it? I have been building wheels for over 20 years. I have no issues with machine built wheels. I do stress relieve them, check tension and true em' and work em' over before I sell em'
They are fine.
