LEaky valve stem
So I was cleaning my bike last night and when checking the air pressure in my tires, I noticed that when I took the cap off of the valve stem on the rear tire it immediatley began to leak air. As long as the cap or my pump is on, it is fine, but in the 3 seconds it takes to take the pump off and replace the cap, I loose like 5-7 psi.
Is this something I should worry about?---It seems fine so long as the valve stem is covered.

If it's defective replace it. We are only talking about a tube.
Do you really want to be stuck at the side of the road because you didn't replace a tube that you knew was faulty?

Assuming a Scharder valve, tighten the core. If that didn't fix the leak, spray a little WD-40 into it, then press the valve pin with a small screwdriver to try and free up the spring.
Or you could just replace the $3.99 tube.(Wal-Mart)
