What Happened??? Or What Did I Do Wrong??

I felt pretty strong after my ride last night---I rode the MTB on a dirt trail for 20 miles---actually I flew on the trail and it almost seemed too easy.

Anyway--I felt so good after the ride I decided to lift some weights--flew through that with no problems and did 3 sets of the various exercises---then I took a shower and went to bed feeling great.

Now I'm just feeling drained and worn out--like I can't do anything about it.

I'm also a 40 year old diabetic---if that helps any??

What happened there??? Or what did I do wrong??
Besides being old---lol

Thanks

I'm by no means at expert at this at all and I am not sure how your diabetes or your factors into this. I am only 18 years old, but I can share you my expereince:

How is your diet? What you eat after exercise is really important regarding how it will make you feel even the next day. For me a good dinner is very important after a day's work. Not high in fat, but rather high in fiber. Fiber foods can be high in calories, but still recommeneded. And I eat a lot of fruits. LOTS.

And you say you felt great that day, but do you always do that amount of work out? What I mean is that level of workout intensity is not a normal everyday thing for you, then it is no surprise to feel fatigued and drained the day after.

It may be the combination of weight lifting and biking on the same day. Personally I dedicate about 6 days out of 10 days to biking only, and 4 days to gym only. This way I have variety, and get a good total workout.

My thoughts are a delayed bonk. Or lack of recovery like rehydrating yourself, eating something. Get some Endurox r4 from a bike store or health store. It is a great product to increase your endurance and help you recover. My muscles have never been sore after a long hard ride while drinking Endurox afterwards. Check it out.

I'm guessing nothing. In fact, for me this is not unusual.
You feel strong, push it extra hard, and next day you recover extra hard.
